Hey, I’ve been reading a lot of Kiese Laymon lately, including his book Long Division.
I can’t remember where I first read his stuff, but I like it. Possibly love it. He’s from the South and is okay writing about the South but doesn’t write most of the mess that is labeled “Southern literature” thank goodness. As a Southerner, I appreciate that. Anyway, in addition to picking up Long Division, these pieces are good, too.
