Because of the big Amazon-Hachette publishing fight, there’s been lots of talk about what fiction writers and authors in general should do. This has been going on for awhile, but I found these three articles really helpful and insightful about the pros, cons and general atmosphere.

Don’t know what I’m talking about? This explains it. It’s really long, but it details the history of the current publishing fight against Amazon, as well as how agents and editors feel about everything going on. Definitely worth the time.
Really hones in on how mid-list authors are succeeding, when the traditional publishers ignored or gave up on them.
This seems like a straight new story, but it’s really about how agents and other industry insiders feel about Amazon’s search for “relevance” among the literary elite.
