I’ve had people visit this blog once and never come back.
People sign up for the newsletter and then unsubscribe (really…why?).
I’ve submitted stories and have been rejected.
I am not for everyone.
I cannot be everywhere.
I cannot be all things to all people. Not everyone will like my writing.
It’s easy to get caught up in the places I’m not going.
And forget where I’ve been.
It’s nice to know my friends have read my stuff and enjoyed it. (Thanks Dan!)
That you’re reading this. That one is better than none.
I like this post by Paul Jarvis about reaching more. It can be a dangerous game, to the point that I’m ignoring people like you.
Really, how many is enough? I think it’s good to have goals, but there’s some real stakes involved. Some tradeoffs you may not know you’re making–interests, family, style, etc.
I am not for everyone. But I’m for you.
